STCC in Falkenberg

My colleague and friend Markus, a really small delegation from the west coast chapter of the Swedish BMW Club and me went down to Falkenberg today to watch STCC (Swedish Touring Car Championship). We started quite early for a Sunday morning so we arrived about 9:15 at the Falkenberg raceway. The weather was clear and sunny so the conditions for this day and race were just shiny. As we went down to the BMW exhibition where BMW presented it’s product range I was surprised by this rare beauty: a white M1, this car is one of the more seldom classics and was with its design and technical specs long before its time, a real Ferrari challenger and the first M-car ever built.

Before the actual STCC race there were some other classes racing on the track:

• Superkart
• S60 Challenge
• Radical
• Veidec Trophy 600 (MC)
• Porsche Cup
• Camaro Trophy
• JTCC (Junior Touring Car Championship)

The STCC race itself was very entertaining but the track is quite short (1843m) and narrow so we could not see as many overhauls as we wanted to see but it was good racing anyway. My favorite driver Richard Göransson from the team “Flash Engineering” had to struggle with gearbox problems and reached the 9th place. Thed Björk, former BMW driver won the race with his Audi A4.

Heiner Link - Frl. Ursula

Also ich bin ja an sich weit davon entfernt mir den Titel Buchkritiker anzumaßen, dafür lese ich einfach viel zu wenig und hatte ausserdem in Deutsch immer schlechte Noten aber dieses Buch möchte ich dann doch wenigstens weiterempfehlen. Ich hab das Buch im Griechenland Urlaub in 2 Tagen gelesen - nein eher verschlungen, gut ist ja nicht besonders dick (192 Seiten) aber „imho“ sehr unterhaltsam. Auf www.amazon.de kann man verschiedene Meinungen über das Buch lesen, die eine Hälfte der Leser findet es beschissen und die andere findet es gut. Also anscheinend polarisiert dieses Buch und teilt seine Leser in 2 Lager, entweder man liebt es oder man hasst es – dazwischen scheint es irgendwie nichts zu geben. Die erste Kritik auf Amazon entspricht zu 95% meiner Meinung über dieses Buch und ich könnte es selber auch nicht besser schreiben deswegen zitiere ich den Verfasser dieser Kritik einfach mal:

„Dies ist eines der größten Meisterwerke der komischen Weltliteratur, stilistisch hervorragend, subtil, subversiv, präzise und auf derb-süddeutsche Art poetisch in seinen Beobachtungen und Schilderungen, dramaturgisch mit großer Raffinesse konzipiert und bis zum Schluß zweigesichtig. Bei aller Komik dominieren der Sarkasmus des Autors und die gnadenlose, vielleicht auf manche deprimierend wirkende Decouvrierung gesellschaftlicher Zustände rund um die Themen Eros, Machtspiele, tägliche Ödnis-Bewältigung und die Tristesse der Vorstädte. Dieses Buch des früh verstorbenen Heiner Link ist sein Vermächtnis und ganz sicher eines der besten zehn deutschen Bücher der letzten drei Jahrzehnte.”

Ich werde mir jetzt auf jeden Fall mal weitere Bücher von Link besorgen, in der Hoffnung das sie auch so unterhaltsam und hintergründig wie „Frl. Ursula“ sind.

Wie ihr der Kritik entnehmen könnt ist Heiner Link leider schon verstorben und das Buch somit das Letzte aus seiner Feder. Leider.
